Team Captain Week ~ July 29 – August 4th 

Calling all team captains! This is your week to make sure you have team’s fundraising pages set up and ready to go! We’ll be highlighting different team captains, celebrating those who’ve already started their fundraising, and host a special Team Captain Rally to thank you for going the extra mile to moving us closer towards a cure!  

Team Captain Rally & Social Hour ~ July 31st | 7:00pm ET / 6:00pm CT / 5:00pm MT / 4:00pm PT  

Join us for our annual Team Captain Rally where we celebrate our amazing Team Captains and Walk Leaders for all of the amazing work that they do. We’ll share a few tips and tricks for success, share some of our favorite walk stories, and give out some fun prizes. Feel free to invite any of your teammates who you want to celebrate and inspire.  

Team Recruitment Blitz ~ August 5 – August 11 

This is your time to get all your teammates registered and fundraising! All Team Members registered by August 11th will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon Gift Card! The team captain with the most members on their team to date will also win a $50 gift card.  

Fundraising Week ~ August 26 - September 2
It’s almost time to Walk & Roll! This is the week we celebrate all of our fundraisers while also enjoying some friendly competition. The Top 3 Team Captains and the Top 10 Individual Fundraisers between August 26th and September 2nd will receive a special prize to say thank you for all your heard work leading up this year’s Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD!  

Starting up a team to Move us closer to a cure has never been easier! Register today and help us light the way towards a cure today.  

1. Register for your local Walk & Roll. If you have already registered but want to "upgrade" to a team, you can easily do that by logging in to your participant center and making the change yourself or reach out and we'll do that for you. If you do not have a local Walk & Roll, you can register for the Virtual Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD.  

1. Personalize your fundraising page! Team captains who personalize and frequently update their team page fundraise, on average, 5 times more than those who do not. You can use your Fundraising Center to:
   - Update your team goal
   - Update and personalize your team page
   - Send recruitment and team emails
   - Track your progress
   - Manage your team roster
   - Connect your fundraiser to Facebook 

1. Recruit team members. Ask anyone and everyone to join your team! With Walk & Roll teams, the more the merrier. And remember, there is strength in numbers: more team members will bring bigger fundraising results. 4 or more registered members makes you an official team! 

1. Communicate. Whether it's an email, group text or Zoom call, keep your team in the loop and motivated with regular updates. Empower your teams to maximize their impact by discussing with them how you’ll fundraise. Make sure your team members are ready for the Walk & Roll by coming up with a plan for how you’ll celebrate on event day. 

Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD has two main team types: Friends & Family teams and corporate teams. Just 4 or more registered members makes you an official team! 

• Friends & Family - Friends and family come together to support a loved one with FSHD; or as is all too often the case for FSHD families, to support each other. FSHD affects the entire family. Coming together to step out and take a stand against FSHD can be a powerful positive experience for families. 
• Corporate - A corporate or business team is made up of employees and their family and friends who rally together to support the FSHD community. This can include business partners, Walk & Roll sponsors, and even co-workers rallying to support their colleagues affected by FSHD. Corporate teams also boost morale and foster teamwork among your staff. It is a great way to enhance teamwork within your company, while giving back to the community.
