We have good news and bad. Our Ghostly Gala celebrity host, Max Adler, just announced that he has been cast in the next Clint Eastwood movie. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Max “has joined Warner Bros.’ Captain Sully movie, which will star Tom Hanks as the pilot who safely landed a passenger aircraft in the Hudson River.” We are so excited for him!
The bad news is that the film shoot has begun in New York City, making it impossible for Max to attend the Ghostly Gala. He says he is crushed to not be able to attend. “I wanted nothing more than to be there with all of you and host the evening and be there to witness this amazing community coming together to fight against FSHD,” he wrote.
And now for more good news: stepping into the host and master of ceremonies role is comedian Wendy Liebman!
Since taking a class called “How to be a Stand-up Comedian” at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education in 1985, Wendy has performed on Carson, Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Ferguson and Hollywood Squares, in clubs throughout North America, has done specials for HBO, Comedy Central, and Showtime, and was a semi-finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. She lives in LA with her funny family and dogs, and produces “Locally Grown Comedy” at the E Spot Lounge in Studio City featuring the best stand-ups around. Check out her DVD “Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV” on Amazon!
We are thrilled and grateful to Wendy and look forward to seeing her at the Ghostly Gala! Here’s Wendy at Comedy Central.
