Join us on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 as we participate in the fifth annual #GivingTuesday!
Entering its fifth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by social media and collaboration following the widely recognized shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Known as the unofficial kickoff to the giving season, every year philanthropies are celebrated and communities around the world join together with the common goal of encouraging giving to a worthy cause.
Last year, the Society saw a generous donations of $6,040, up from $2,020 in 2014. Join us in our efforts to raise even more funds this year to support those affected by FSHD and to fund important research to take one step closer towards finding a cure!
On Tuesday, November 29, please consider supporting #GivingTuesday by taking these two simple steps:
- Make a donation HERE.
- Let your social media friends know about your gift and encourage them to do the same! You can copy and paste the following message, or compose one of your own: Join me on #GivingTuesday to help find a cure & provide support for those affected by #FSHD: https://wp.me/p5HBPs-104.
Last year, organizations that participated in #GivingTuesday received a total of over $116 million dollars via one million online donations. The #GivingTuesday campaign also made 114 billion Twitter impressions and 917,000 Facebook impressions.
As this is an event largely fueled by social media, be sure to keep up with our progress by following us on Twitter @FSHSociety, Facebook at Facioscapulohumeral Society, FSH Society and use the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #CureFSHD when connecting with us on social media during the day.
