Our 2015-2016YTD Donor Impact Report is out! We urge you to read it to appreciate the incredible impact your support has had, and will continue to have into the future. Our President and CEO reflects on the changes he has seen in his letter to our members:
I feel honored and privileged to receive this award from the FSH Society, an organization that has dedicated its entire existence to a better life for FSHD families. I feel humbled to receive this recognition, proud of my excellent team of creative scientists, and privileged to be part of this great community.
—Silvère van der Maarel, PhD, recipient of 2016 FSH Society Pioneer Award
We are, indeed, a great community, and you should be very proud to be part of it. Begun 25 years ago, the FSH Society has grown, patient by patient, family by family, friend by friend, researcher by researcher, into a formidable force, striving every day to make a difference to all those living with the challenges and heartbreak of FSH muscular dystrophy.
There is a sea-change in what we are able to do today, thanks to the past years of dedicated effort by all of us. We are moving strategically and decisively to capitalize on these achievements and are pleased to share them with you in our 2015-2016 YTD Donor Impact Report. You will be amazed by the rapid advances we have made in just the past few years.
As we head into our year-end campaign, please reflect on the difference the FSH Society has made in your life. How does it feel to know that there are many people who care about you and your loved ones with FSHD, who have dedicated themselves to bringing encouragement and the light of science into what was a dark abyss of indifference just a few decades ago?
The people who serve on our Board of Directors certainly appreciate what the Society has done for them. These dedicated individuals have pledged $400,300 to our Year-End Challenge, and challenge you to match it. You must post your gift before 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2016, in order to be counted. (But we deeply appreciate it if you don’t wait until the last minute.)
Your support makes a tangible difference! Our talented and incredibly hard-working team, Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board, and volunteers are all doing their part to keep the good news flowing. Now it’s time to do your part. We thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Daniel Perez
President & CEO, FSH Society
