We’re excited to announce that your donation on Tuesday, November 28, will be eligible for matching gifts! Here’s how:
- Donate through Facebook. On #GivingTuesday, Facebook and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will be matching up to $2 million of funds raised for US nonprofits through Facebook’s charitable giving tools. Donations can be matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit, with a max of $1,000 per individual’s fundraiser or donate button, until the $2 million in matching funds run out. The match will begin November 28th at 8AM EST (5AM PST). Additionally, Facebook is waiving all fees for donations to nonprofits on #GivingTuesday. To participate, visit the FSH Society’s Facebook fundraiser page. Click “Donate” to make your gift. Or better yet, click “Raise Money” to create your own FB fundraiser for the FSH Society. Set up your fundraiser now, then send a “mark your calendar” alert to ask friends to donate at 8AM EST on November 28, and tell them their gifts will be matched up to $1,000!
- Donate directly to the FSH Society. If Facebook isn’t your thing, you can still make a gift that will be matched dollar for dollar up to $11,500 by a generous group of benefactors. Make your gift on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 by 11:59 p.m. EST to qualify for the match.
Most importantly, let your friends know about your gift and encourage them to do the same! You can copy and paste the following message, or compose one of your own: Join me on #GivingTuesday to help find a cure & provide support for those affected by FSH muscular dystrophy #FSHD: https://bit.ly/GivingTuesdayFSHD (or use the link for your personal Facebook fundraiser).
As this is an event largely fueled by social media, be sure to keep up with our progress by following us on Twitter @FSHSociety, Facebook at Facioscapulohumeral Society, FSH Society and use the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #CureFSHD when connecting with us on social media during the day.
Thank you for doing your part to raise awareness and funds for our cause! The cure is out there. It’s up to each of us to help find it.
