September is Fall Prevention Awareness Month and was the subject of our Wellness Hour. Falls are the second most common cause of injury leading to death. For a person with FSHD, falling and breaking a bone may be the incident that leads to becoming reliant on a wheelchair. That’s because it’s much harder for FSHD muscles to recover from injury and lack of use. Ranae Beeker, RN, one of our Wellness Hour (and Women on Wellness) volunteer moderators prepared this awesome slide deck. It has a wealth of tips on preventing a catastrophic fall. You can read it by scrolling through.

Could you post Jeff Brooks’s video link so it can be used? It wasn’t an active link in the slide set. Also, how can we contact him to get a set of plans for his lift?
Thanks!
