Mindfulness is a practice that has been shown in clinical trials to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, issues that many people living with a progressive condition like FSHD experience. These psychological symptoms can in turn have negative impacts on physical outcomes, such as immune function, pain and fatigue. In this webinar, we will learn about mindfulness practices from Ginny Wholley, a certified instructor of mindfulness-based programs. She is qualified by the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Center for Mindfulness to instruct Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and certified by Brown Mindfulness Center, Brown University School of Public Health. She is also a certified Kripalu yoga teacher. Ginny has a gift for creating learning environments that foster self-exploration and discovery. She finds joy in supporting individuals and communities in their self-reflective journey and transformation.
