Nizar Saad, PhD is an assistant professor at the Center for Gene Therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Saad worked on FSHD for several years in the laboratory of Scott Harper, PhD, and has been involved in the development of novel gene and drug therapies for FSHD. Today, Dr. Saad will give an overview on the therapeutic landscape for FSHD and give some update on his ongoing research aiming to identify novel molecular biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of FSHD and to develop novel viral and non-viral based gene therapies to treat this disease.
