Joshua Benditt, MD, University of Washington, is a professor of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at the UW School of Medicine. As UW Medical Center’s medical director of respiratory services, Benditt oversees the hospital’s 70-plus respiratory therapists. He treats patients with neuromuscular respiratory failure, which includes FSHD as well as conditions like multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Benditt, a Seattle native, attended the University of Washington to earn is undergraduate and medical degrees. He trained at the Boston VA Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine before returning to Seattle.
