PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH!
During the event, there will be an opportunity in the afternoon for meeting attendees to contribute to an ongoing FSHD plasma biomarker study being conducted by the UMass Wellstone Program. Dr. Charlie Emerson’s lab is analyzing plasma from FSHD and controls to identify novel biomarkers that might accelerate future FSHD clinical trials. This will involve reviewing a consent form with our staff and being willing to contribute a blood sample (2 tubes, which is 2-3 teaspoons of blood). Patients, spouses, and family members can contact Catherine Douthwright to find out more information ahead of the meeting and to review the consent form.
